Noëmie was born and raised in the French part of Canada, Quebec City. She has been travelling the world since and found a second home in Naarm, where she is now a permanent resident.
Trëma Objects was brought into existence from Covid, taking away Noëmie’s mean of living, travels.
As she needed to shift her energies around she went back to her first love and coping mechanism, arts and crafts.
She had previously taken wheel throwing classes and wanted to continue her exploration of ceramics. She quickly found some therapeutic properties and healing in the process. Her desire was to create a practical art object that is designed to make you smile, take it easy and dress your house cute.
Inspiration comes from all the micro cultures she loves, her experiences and a genuine love for others. The desire to make someone feel special is what inspired Noëmie to create art as a kid, and is still to this day what motivates her to do personalised commission work. A trema is the two dots you can find on her name, which is unique for a Noëmie and represents the uniqueness of each of her handmade pots.
Fun, considerate and multi-dimensional is what Noëmie calls her project. She hopes the audience will enjoy the easygoingness and playfulness of it all whilst appreciating the different mediums she plays with. Weather it be through her ceramic paintings, film photography or with her words. She’s just having a good time.
Noëmie’s dad, who passed away in 2019, really wanted her to make birthday cards after she made some glittery googly eyed ones for her friends one christmas. It has now become one of her plan for the future of Trëma. Creating other bits and bobs that are categorised as ‘objects’.
